<title>Thriving in Uncertain Times- Annual Farmer Cooperatives Conference</title>
 <link>http://agnetwork.bcca.coop/event/thriving-uncertain-times-annual-farmer-cooperatives-conference</link>
<description>Mark your calendars for November 9-10, 2009, when the 12th Annual Farmer Cooperatives Conference will focus on &quot;Thriving in Uncertain Times&quot; in St. Paul, MN.

The current economic uncertainty poses significant challenges for all businesses. But changing times are also times of opportunity. How can agricultural co-ops navigate uncertainty not only to meet today’s challenges, but to achieve success tomorrow?

*Volatility characterizes every aspect of agribusiness, from input costs to market demand.
*Existing markets are shifting as consumer preferences change and the economy dictates household decisions.
* Climate-change legislation on carbon offsets may affect agricultural practices and priorities.
*The perennial challenge of capitalizing future growth opportunities while managing member equity continues.

The Farmer Cooperatives Conference will address these issues with presentations and panel discussions by experienced cooperative leaders and knowledgeable experts. This event is a unique opportunity to explore these timely issues with cooperative board members, CEOs, and others doing business with agricultural cooperatives.
